First Days in Sydney

Here we are in Sydney at last and what a hectic time it’s been! We’ve only just now been able to sit down and write our first entry in the blog.

We had a smooth flight, arriving on Wednesday, and made our way over to Bondi where Will came over from work to let us into his flat. Morgan was still in New York with her family so we had to wait until the following morning to meet her.

Morgan arrived early on Thursday morning and we were delighted to meet her at last. Despite being jet-lagged, she took us on a walk to Bondi beach and along the coast to Tamarama beach, then Bronte beach. Along the route there was a special sculpture exhibition.

Just as we were walking by Bronte beach, we were surprised to be accosted by See Eng, one of Olivia’s friends who has recently moved back to Sydney.

After a quick lunch at Bronte beach, we went back to Will and Morgan’s flat to await the delivery of the campervan we had bought. The current owner had kindly agreed to bring it over from Newcastle (a 3-hour drive).

On Friday we went to See Eng’s place for tea. She lives in an amazing house that belongs to the mother of one of See Eng’s friends. It’s perched in the cliffs above Tamarama beach with fantastic views.
