We’re heading up through the gold mining towns of Victoria, made prosperous during the gold rush of the late 19th century.
Castelmaine is a pleasant, functional town with some fine buildings erected during the moneyed gold rush days.
Maldon is the best preserved gold rush town and it was easy to imagine being back in the 18 hundreds.
