Rottnest Island lies just off the coast from Perth. We spent a lovely day there cycling along the traffic-free roads, stopping at various coves and beaches for swimming and snorkelling. John had made a fantastic picnic which we dipped into at every stop!
Unique to the island are quokkas, which are like tiny wallabies. Initially mistaken as rats, they gave the name to the island.
