Heading north from Perth, the first point of interest is the Pinnacles. These are extraordinary rock formations that poke out of the desert sand. We spent some time walking around them, taking in the strange scene.
Later, we headed further up the coast and ended up camping at the top of a hill near Geraldton, experiencing the full force of the prevailing wind that blows up the coast during the summer. Our original choice of campsite was blocked by a river flooded by recent cyclonic storms further north.
